2016 EFIA Golf Day Avoids the Monsoon Rains
(Posted on 12/07/16)
With over 30 golfers playing a Stapleford competition at Styrrup Hall, Doncaster, on June 16th, the 2016 EFIA Golf Day was a great success despite the morning’s rain. The monsoon was avoided and the wet weather gear was slowly stripped off as the sun appeared and warmed up the players over the rest of the day.
Representing a range of companies across the flexo industry, the outright winners at the end of the day with the prize sponsored by J Stell & Sons Ltd, were Chemence Graphics with a score of 86, closely followed by doctor blade manufacturers, Daetwyler UK and Bobst Group in third place.
Paul Campbell of Flint Flexographic Products, a new partner of EFIA, won the nearest the pin competition, sponsored by Bobst Group, and the longest drive, sponsored by J Stell & Sons Ltd, went to Karl Davison of Smurfit Kappa, Inspirepac.
EFIA board member, responsible for organising the event, Keith Hullah of Smurfit Kappa Inspirepac said: ”We were a bit worried this year having the event so close to the end of Drupa and then of course finding out that we’d scheduled the event the same day as the England vs. Wales match. However, our members supported us and came out in force for a great day out at Styrrup Hall once again. Most teams were back in to watch the match as well, so it worked out well for everyone.”
