On behalf of EFIA, Debbie is part of the steering committee for a report which is looking at the future of fibre and non-fibre-based packaging to 2025.

Over the next 10 years there are some key issues and trends that will play a major role in shaping the future of the packaging industry. These include:-

  • Better recycling
  • Substitution
  • Consolidation of the packaging industry
  • Brand and retailing requirements
  • Online purchasing
  • Development of new packing materials
  • Increasing manufacturing costs
  • Smart packaging
  • Consumer and legislative pressures

Against these trends and others the report will look at what the future will hold for the packaging sector and what are the major challenges and issues that the packaging sector will face.

The study is to be published in September 2015 and if you are interested in obtaining a copy at a special rate for members of EFIA please contact us.
